It is with great sadness that we share the passing of Phil Wilcock, affectionately known as “Ghost,” a much-loved member of the Pinley Rugby Club community. Phil passed away peacefully on Saturday, March 14, following a long and courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family and loved ones.
Phil was a true club favourite and a deeply valued part of the Pinley family. He will be fondly remembered for his quick wit, infectious smile, and genuinely warm and welcoming nature. His presence brought energy and camaraderie to everyone around him, and he had a remarkable ability to make people feel at ease.
A dedicated member of the club’s “Fix It Crew,” Phil was always ready to lend a hand, no matter the task. Whether it was a small repair or a larger project, he approached every job with enthusiasm and good humour. His willingness to help and his dependable nature made him someone the club could always count on.
Beyond his contributions, Phil’s spirit and personality left a lasting impression. He was admired not only for what he did, but for who he was—a loyal friend, a kind-hearted individual, and someone who truly embodied the values of community and friendship.
As we remember Phil, we take comfort in the thought that he is now free from pain, riding on with the same fearless energy that defined him. His legacy will live on through the memories he created and the lives he touched.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to Phil’s family, friends, and all who knew him. Details of his wake will be shared in due course. Until then, may he rest in peace and be forever remembered.
