He continued his education at Syracuse University, earning his bachelor’s degree before obtaining his Juris Doctor from Syracuse University College of Law. A lifelong supporter of the Syracuse Orange, he followed his teams with passion, loyalty, and spirited commentary.
A devout Catholic, Eric’s faith was central to his life. He was a dedicated member of his church and regularly attended traditional Latin Mass, drawing strength and purpose from his beliefs. Above all, Eric was a devoted father to his five daughters—Lucy, Bernadette, Mary, Greta, and Margaux—who were the center of his world. He is also survived by his father, H. Thomas Swartz, and his wife Pearl, as well as his siblings Kelly, Chris, and Amy, along with many nieces and nephews who will cherish his memory.
