It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Patty Johnson on Friday, 20th March, following a long and courageous battle with cancer. Patty was a cherished Life Member of our club and a beloved member of the Brothers family, whose kindness, dedication, and quiet generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met.
For many years, Patty devoted his time and energy to supporting our players, always ready to patch up, strap up, and care for the young athletes whenever they needed him. His dedication went far beyond the physical tasks; he offered encouragement, reassurance, and a sense of calm that meant so much to players, families, and the wider community. His contributions were felt not only on game days but in the day-to-day life of the club, and his care and commitment have left a lasting legacy.
Even as his health declined, Patty remained actively involved with the club through the 2024 season, showing the same passion and commitment that defined his life. His presence, wisdom, and steady support were a source of strength for many, and the impact of his generosity and devotion will never be forgotten.
Our heartfelt condolences go out to Val and the entire Johnson family during this incredibly difficult time. We share in their grief and offer our support as they navigate this loss.
To honor Patty’s memory, we ask that all players wear black armbands at Saturday’s games, and a minute of silence will be observed, likely prior to the Under-15 kickoff. Black tape will be made available for those wishing to participate.
Patty’s contributions to our club were immense, and he will be remembered not only for his care and dedication but for the warmth, kindness, and integrity he brought to every interaction. While his passing is a profound loss, we take comfort in knowing he is no longer in pain. Rest in peace, Patty.
