It is with sadness that we note the passing of John R. Clark, Jr., founder of Clark Sales. Mr. Clark established the company in 1991 and contributed to its growth and development for over three decades, retiring in 2024. His leadership and dedication helped shape the foundation of the business and influenced the professional culture that continues today.
Throughout his career, Mr. Clark was recognized for his commitment to his work and the relationships he fostered with colleagues, clients, and partners. His approach to leadership combined knowledge, determination, and a focus on collaboration, which contributed to the company’s long-standing reputation in the industry.
Beyond his professional contributions, Mr. Clark was involved in charitable causes, including St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which was important to him and reflected his commitment to supporting broader community initiatives.
Visitation for Mr. Clark will be held on Monday, March 23, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Gilliam Funeral Home in Big Stone Gap. Burial arrangements are pending. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in his memory.
Mr. Clark’s passing is a loss to those who worked with him and to the community he engaged with through his professional and charitable efforts. His contributions to Clark Sales and the impact of his work will be remembered and acknowledged.
